Among the primary goals and visions of Zeriab conservatory: writing and publishing books and curriculums of the musical instruments in order to contribute to build a professional infrastructure for teaching the musical instruments, as well as to provide learning materials and tools for teachers and students, also to develop learning methods and techniques, to stimulate and encourage specialized teacher to write and register and document special exercises and different songs and musical pieces, so that the students can benefit from specialized teachers’ experience in playing instruments and teaching, enriching the Arabic musical library and thus to develop and foster the Palestinian musical culture.

we put between your hand the book “exercises and melodies on Oud and oriental music instruments” written by master Sameer Makhoul and produced by Oud Zeriab Association, hoping it will contribute to reinforce and develop teaching the Oud instrument, also to enrich the Arabic musical library being an assisting tool for teachers and students in the different teaching and levels and stages, especially that playing the studied musical exercises plays a major role in student’s progress in his/her learning process.
The book includes different various basic exercises on the Oud instrument and the oriental instruments. Among its goals:

Teaching and playing the temporal ratios (the musical note) gradually.

Teaching the logic of the Strumming directions descending and ascending, down or up strum pattern in playing the Oud.

Teaching and Playing the musical Maqamat gradually of the Oud instrument.

Playing the simple and complicated musical rhythm.

Knowing the Arabic musical Maqamat by melodic studied exercises with concentration on the conduct and nature of the Maqam melody.
The exercises were set in gradual manner for the Oud instrument, starting with the preparational level reaching the advanced level.
