Zeriab Conservatory

Professional conservatory for teaching music, founded in 2017 in Nazareth by the musician Sameer Makhoul. The conservatory specializes in teaching singing and playing oriental and western musical instruments in an academic method and studied curriculum, taught by a specialized team of teachers, all of them of musical experience and academic competencies.

The conservatory works under the umbrella of “Oud Zeriab” Association which is a registered formal association founded and initiated by a group of artists scholarly supporters and lovers of music.

Founding this association was for the urgent need of building an educational foundation with educational musical vision; one of its main goals is to establish a professional conservatory for teaching music and contribute to spread and develop the musical education in the local Arab society.

Administrative board members: Muzayan H’afi Jaraysi, Mustafa Rezeq, E’sam Mazzawi, Basel Bellan, Ibrahim Khamis.

Supervision committee members: Saleem Salameh, Imeel E’mran.

Association goals and vision

The vision of “Oud Zeriab” Association since its foundation focuses on the following goals:

Establishing a professional conservatory for teaching music under the name of Zeriab Conservatory in Nazareth to be an embracing home for music students and young talents.
Contribute in spreading and increasing music educational awareness in the local Arab society.
Providing a professional frame based on academic curriculum for teaching music.
Fostering musical capabilities and skills of children and youth and self-realization.
Establishing musical ensembles and orchestras from the conservatory students and presenting performances in different social activities.
Holding educational musical performances and programs at schools.
Publishing books and curriculums for teaching Arabic musical instruments.
Admitting the students for matriculation exams in music.
Presenting master class and lectures of local and international researchers and music instrumentalists and composers for the conservatory students and music students out of the conservatory.
Holding musical performances of various styles in the surrounding and center.
Developing the musical dialogue and cooperation among the different musical cultures in the country and abroad.
Supporting and encouraging young composers and innovators to hold musical performances of their own works, and to document their musical works and thus to develop the local Palestinian musical scene.
